Oklahoma Parent Taught Driver Education

The OK DPS allows first time drivers in Oklahoma to complete Parent-Taught Driver Education (PTDE) course in lieu of classroom or driving school instruction. This type of driver education requires the student's biological parent, adoptive parent, parent by marriage, or legal guardian to provide behind-the-wheel instruction to the student. PTDE is convenient and more affordable for first time drivers to complete driver education on his/her schedule, with his/her parent or guardian guiding and teaching throughout the process.
